PRODUCT OVERVIEW

Seroflo 250 Rotacap is a combination medicine used for the long term management of asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). It helps open the airways, reduce inflammation in the lungs, and make breathing easier. Regular use helps control symptoms such as wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, and shortness of breath, improving breathing and overall quality of life.

KEY USES AND BENEFITS

Seroflo 250 Rotacap is used for the treatment and long term management of asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. In people with asthma, it helps prevent the onset of asthma symptoms and reduces the frequency of asthma attacks when used regularly. It improves control of wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, and breathlessness, allowing individuals to perform daily activities and exercise more comfortably while reducing the impact of common triggers such as house dust, pollen, pets, and cigarette smoke.

For people with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, Seroflo 250 Rotacap helps keep the airways open by relaxing the muscles surrounding the air passages while reducing inflammation. This improves airflow, making breathing easier and reducing symptoms such as persistent cough, wheezing, chest tightness, and shortness of breath. Regular use helps improve day to day activities and supports better long term control of respiratory symptoms.

This medicine is intended for maintenance therapy and should be used regularly, even when symptoms improve. It is not intended to provide relief during sudden asthma attacks. A quick relief inhaler should be used for emergency symptom relief as advised by your doctor.

COMPOSITION AND HOW IT WORKS

Seroflo 250 Rotacap contains Salmeterol and Fluticasone Propionate.

Salmeterol is a long acting bronchodilator that relaxes the muscles of the airways, helping them remain open for a prolonged period. This improves airflow into and out of the lungs and makes breathing easier.

Fluticasone Propionate is a corticosteroid that reduces inflammation by blocking the release of chemical messengers responsible for swelling and irritation in the airways. This helps reduce airway inflammation, decrease mucus production, and prevent worsening of asthma and COPD symptoms.

Together, these medicines work by relaxing the airways and controlling inflammation, providing long term symptom control and improved breathing.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

Use Seroflo 250 Rotacap exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Rotacaps are meant for inhalation only and must not be swallowed. Place the Rotacap into the base of the Rotahaler and not into the mouthpiece. Twist the mouthpiece completely until you hear a click. Breathe in deeply through the mouthpiece and hold your breath for up to ten seconds before breathing out gently. If any powder remains inside the Rotahaler, repeat the inhalation process as instructed.

Use the medicine regularly, even if you do not have symptoms, to achieve maximum benefit. Rinse your mouth thoroughly with water and spit it out or brush your teeth after each use to help reduce the risk of fungal infection in the mouth.

SIDE EFFECTS

Common side effects of Seroflo 250 Rotacap include cough, upper respiratory tract infection, nasopharyngitis, sinus inflammation, stomach discomfort, fungal infection of the mouth and throat, voice changes, headache, aggressive behaviour, and dryness of the mouth. Some individuals may also experience nausea, vomiting, hoarseness of voice, sore throat, musculoskeletal pain, or an increased heart rate.

Most side effects are mild and improve as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if any side effects persist, become bothersome, or worsen.

SAFETY ADVICE

Use Seroflo 250 Rotacap only as prescribed by your doctor. This medicine is intended for regular maintenance treatment and should not be used to relieve sudden asthma attacks. Always keep your prescribed quick relief inhaler available for emergency use.

Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding before using this medicine. Also tell your doctor if you have any kidney or liver disease so that an appropriate treatment plan can be recommended.

Avoid smoking and minimise exposure to substances that may trigger asthma or COPD symptoms, including dust, pollen, pets, and cigarette smoke. Ensure that you use the Rotahaler correctly to receive the full benefit of the medicine. Do not swallow the Rotacap. Rinse your mouth after every use to help reduce the risk of fungal infections. Do not stop using the medicine without consulting your doctor, as this may worsen your respiratory condition.
