PRODUCT OVERVIEW

Susten 8% Gel is a progesterone containing vaginal gel used for the prevention of miscarriage during early pregnancy. It helps support the pregnancy by maintaining the uterine lining and creating a favourable environment for the developing embryo. Treatment should always be used under the supervision of a doctor.

KEY USES AND BENEFITS

Susten 8% Gel is used for the prevention of miscarriage, particularly in women who experience bleeding during early pregnancy and have a history of recurrent pregnancy loss. It helps maintain the uterine lining, keeps the womb relaxed, and supports a healthy environment for embryo development. Vaginal administration delivers progesterone directly to the uterus, providing effective local action while reducing exposure to the rest of the body. This helps improve the chances of continuing the pregnancy and provides additional support during the early stages of pregnancy.

COMPOSITION AND HOW IT WORKS

Susten 8% Gel contains Progesterone as its active ingredient. It works by maintaining a healthy uterine lining that is essential for pregnancy to continue. It helps relax the uterine muscles, improves blood flow between the uterus and placenta, and reduces inflammatory and immune responses that may threaten the pregnancy, thereby supporting healthy fetal development during the first trimester.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

Use Susten 8% Gel exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Insert the gel deep into the vagina at the same time each day to ensure consistent progesterone support during early pregnancy. Continue treatment for the duration recommended by your doctor. Report any ongoing vaginal bleeding or new symptoms promptly, as further medical evaluation may be required.

SIDE EFFECTS

Susten 8% Gel is generally well tolerated. Some women may experience mild vaginal irritation, itching, burning sensation, or oily vaginal discharge. These side effects are usually mild and temporary. Consult your doctor if these symptoms persist, become bothersome, or worsen during treatment.

SAFETY ADVICE

Susten 8% Gel should only be used during the first trimester for the prevention of miscarriage and only under medical supervision. Inform your doctor if you have undiagnosed vaginal bleeding, severe liver disease, hormone dependent cancers, thromboembolic disorders, or a known allergy to progesterone or any ingredient in this medicine. Any vaginal bleeding before or during treatment should be promptly evaluated by your doctor. Use this medicine only as prescribed and do not stop treatment without consulting your healthcare provider.
